FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Miralis Mineral Foam insulation in general?
Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation is a mineral construction material used for insulating buildings. It is produced from water, air and mineral raw materials. Thanks to its mineral components, it is non-flammable, dimensionally stable and has excellent insulating properties.
What is so special about the Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation?
What is special about Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation.
It is Non-flammable (DIN EN 13501-1: A1), has a high insulation performance (DIN 4108-4: [λB 0.035 - 0.039 W/mK]), has a low CO2 equivalent (ISO 14067:2018: [57 kg CO2/m3]) and is 100% recyclable (technological assessment).
- Very easy to fill, in many shapes and heights (simple installation)
- Open to diffusion
- Little/no waste during installation
- Reduced storage area: only 1 m3 storage area for 15 m3 of finished insulation
- Quick and easy installation: 7 m3 per hour
- Fast processing time: ready to apply the reinforcement after 45 minutes (concrete sandwich panels)
- Noise-reducing
- Simple and efficient integration into existing industrial production processes
Where can Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation be used?
Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation is mainly used for application in concrete sandwich & cavity walls, but also in bricks & lightweight concrete blocks.
How is Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation GMS65 produced?
GMS65 is produced in a production unit developed and patented by Miralis. The base material is mixed with water and additives to produce the Mineral Foam Insulation. The finished material is then inserted into the wall system.
How is the Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation recycled?
In the recycling process, the Mineral Foam Insulation can be crushed together with the entire wall system and separated by screening fractions. Depending on the grain size, the fine fraction can then be returned to the concrete and cement industry.
What is the compressive strength of GMS65?
The compressive strength of GMS65 is 65 kPa.
How big is the Miralis Production Unit?
Dimensions in operation (retracted):
- Length: 5.500 mm
- Width: 2.350 mm
- Height: 3.930 mm
Dimensions extended during operation:
- Length: 5.500 mm
- Width: 2.100 mm
- Height: 2.550 mm
What energy and water supply does the Miralis Production Unit require?
- Required power connection: 1x CEE 32A / 50Hz
- Required water connection: Household pipe 3/4 inch, min. 10l/min. water flow rate
What is the lifespan of the base material?
The minimum shelf life of the base material is indicated on each big bag. In principle, the base material can be stored for several months.
Can I also process my own or other material in the unit?
No!
It is required to use exclusively Miralis base material in conjunction with the Miralis Production Unit, as these components are specifically engineered to be compatible with one another.
How should the raw material be stored?
The raw material must be stored in a dry and frost-proof storage area.
How often should material/production testing be carried out?
Test intervals must be carried out according to approval.
Does the Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation expand?
No!
The Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation is produced without propellants. It therefore does not expand, nor does it shrink and is therefore process-safe.
How much Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation can be produced per hour?
The Miralis Production Unit can produce 7 m3 of Mineral Foam Insulation per hour. Around 15 m3 of finished Mineral Foam Insulation is produced from 1 t (around 1 m3) of base material.
What happens if the Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation gets wet?
The Mineral Foam Insulation releases the absorbed moisture again.
Does Miralis Mineral Foam Insulation have the potential to develop mould?
No!
The mineral composition of the foam prevents any kind of mould.
